About Compare Two Lists

Compare Two Lists is a free tool for one job: paste two lists and see the overlap, the items only in one list, the combined unique list, and the values repeated inside each list. A separate page removes duplicates from a single list.

The work happens in your browser. The text you paste is not uploaded or stored by this site. There is no account and no workbook upload. Copy a column from Excel or Google Sheets if that is where the list lives. The guides explain the same checks with formulas.

How matching works

Each line is one item unless you choose another separator on the main tool. Blank lines are ignored. Spaces at the start and end can be trimmed, and you can choose whether upper and lower case count as different. The first spelling is the one shown for a match. Spaces inside a line are not removed, and near-miss spellings are not treated as equal.

Results follow those rules. Check them before you import a file or send a mailing. If a result looks wrong, send a short example through the contact page.
